Getting to know Felicia:

Q: What do you think is the best quality for a leader to possess? Why?

A: It is hard for me to pick one quality because I tend to think that certain qualities work best in unison with others. I would say in my humble opinion, some of the best qualifies for a leader to possess are teamwork and empathy. These are areas where I try to grow.

As a society, I think trying to put ourselves in someone else’s shoes helps us to understand each other better and it ultimately helps us motivate and positively communicate with each other.

I am so blessed and honored to work with such an exceptional and knowledgeable team. Having the ability to talk things over and have discussions with my Personal Lines teammates in Columbia and Greenville is a great privilege.

My Sunday School teacher always reminds us that we all need each other; he can’t be all that he can be until we are all that we can be. That’s why I enjoy working with my team, they make me better and I hope I do some positive things for them in return.

Q: What is your definition of “happiness”?

A: My definition of happiness is having peace in my life. For me, happiness is more fleeting because I can be happy today and miserable tomorrow. My goal is to be at peace. Even when difficulties and life issues come, through those times, I want to find my place of peace. That makes me happy.

Q: What was the best piece of career advice you ever received?

A: Many years ago, I told Tommy Suggs that I was anticipating moving to another state and changing my insurance career path. He told me that the decision was mine, but he didn’t think it was a good idea and he laid out the reasons why. I am grateful to him for his honesty and even more so, I am glad that I listened.
