Tee-to-Cup Hole-in-One Insurance

Before proceeding with your purchase of hole-in-one insurance, please read the limits to and requisite conditions for coverage. As part of the application process, you will be required to warrant that you have read and understand those limits and conditions.

• The minimum yardage on the designated Target Hole(s) must be one hundred and fifty-five (155) yards from the tee to the flagstick. The designated Target Hole(s) must not be altered from its normal position as respects the tee box and green.
• The Target Hole will measure from teeing ground to flagstick no less than the specified Yardage identified in the Schedule of Insurance. The Target Hole may not be placed in a position that is different from a normal position during non-tournament play. The Target Hole may not be positioned in an area that could facilitate a successful hole-in-one including, but not limited to; a groove or valley on the green. For purposes of clarity, junior male Participants are not permitted to make their Attempt from junior tees; junior male Participants must make their Attempt from the specified yardage in the Schedule of Insurance. For purposes of clarity, female Participants, including female junior Participants, are permitted to make their Attempt from up to twenty (20) yards closer to the Target Hole than male Participants.
• The Rules of Golf (written by Golf Canada) shall apply.
• Coverage applies only for tournaments with 40 or more participants and no more than 156.
• All golf equipment used in the Insured Tournament (Event), including golf clubs, golf balls, flagsticks, holes and tee-box must conform to the rules of golf as determined by Golf Canada.
• To be eligible to participate and claim a Prize, a successful hole-in-one attempt must be made on the Target Hole by an officially registered Participant of the Event as specified in the Schedule of Insurance. The hole-in-one must occur during a regulation round of golf or Tournament in accordance with all terms and conditions of the Insurance Policy unless otherwise approved by Underwriters.
• To qualify for coverage under this policy, the Insured Tournament must be played in groups made up of no less than three (3) Participants.
• Where multiple pins exist on the designated hole, the Insured Tournament must clearly state which pin on the hole is to be insured under this policy.
• If multiple prizes exist on the designated hole then all prizes must be insured through the HUB International Ontario ULC Hole-In-One on-line program.
• The designated hole(s) cannot be used if it is considered a designated hole for another Tournament and hole-in-one insurance policy on the same day.
• The application for coverage for Insured Tournaments with a prize value of up to twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) must be received at a minimum twenty-four (24) hours (one (1) day) before the start of the Insured Tournament.
• The application for coverage for Insured Tournaments with a prize value over twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) be received at a minimum 72 hours before the start of the tournament.

• If Sum Insured is less than or equal to $25,000 CAD: It is the sole responsibility of the Insured to provide one (1) competent non-playing adult Witness, age 18 or older, to supervise the Target Hole if the prize value is less than or equal to $25,000.
• If Sum Insured is greater than $25,000 CAD: Two (2) competent non-playing adult Witnesses required, age 18 or older, to supervise the Target Hole if the prize value is greater than $25,000.
• Non-Playing Witness(es) must be an adult aged 18 or older, and non-playing, who at all times must be cognizant of the associated policy conditions. The Witness or Witnesses must ensure they have an unobstructed view of the target hole, so as to be able to witness the complete flight of the ball should a hole-in-one occur. A Witness may be a volunteer associated with the tournament, or an employee of the organization, but at all times must meet the criteria of a competent Witness as described above.
• Weather: In the event a Tournament is canceled due to weather by reason of force majeure which prevents the conducting of the Event, and assuming no shots were taken, Insurer agrees to reimburse the Insured the premium (less any demonstrable 3rd party costs and administrative costs to Insured) or change the Tournament to another date without charge or penalty.

Exclusions apply to the policy, as they do on all insurance policies. The following apply to our Tee-to-Cup program:

• A hole in one achieved by a participant under the age of majority is excluded
• A hole in one achieved by a golf club pro or professional golfer is excluded
• A hole in one achieved by any participant doing the following is excluded:
  • Playing a practice shot
  • Playing a mulligan shot
  • Playing a ball that was hit out of bounds and replayed
  • Playing a second ball
  • Playing a ball for another participant
  • Playing a ball to round out a group by taking an extra shot

The premium you pay is based on the value of the prize, from $5,000 to $50,000 or more. The limit(s) of coverage chosen by the purchaser of Tee-to-Cup Hole-in-One Insurance is the most the insurer will pay regardless of the number of hole-in-ones achieved at the Insured Tournament (Event).

All premiums are subject to applicable provincial sales tax.
