Professional Liability Insurance, also known as Errors and Omissions (E&O) Insurance, protects individuals and companies who provide advice and service from allegations of errors and omissions, breach of contract, misrepresentation, negligence, or other wrongful business practices.
If you offer professional services, make recommendations, or provide solutions to your customers at any time in the course of your work, you’re assuming professional liability and should be covered with professional liability insurance.
Here are some important details of the Nova Scotia Institute of Agrologists group insurance policy:
- Professional E&O liability coverage only applies for services that are usual and customary to the practice of a professional agrologist. (The by-laws and/or regulations established by your institute would set out what falls within these parameters.) If your practice goes beyond the services noted here, please contact HUB for alternative coverage options for your liability insurance needs.
- Coverage is provided for the firm and its employees while conducting business for the firm.
- Commercial general liability coverage can only be purchased if E&O coverage is in place.
- Defence costs are provided in excess to your policy limit.
- A cessation of business endorsement applies to the E&O policy (it is not required for the commercial general liability policy).
- The commercial general liability policy includes $1 million in liability coverage for third party forest fire-fighting expenses.
