First Nations Communities Insurance Program

Coverages available through this insurance program include:

• “All-risks” coverage for all First Nations assets (e.g., residential housing, tenant contents, commercial properties, schools, administration offices, contractor equipment)
• Flood and earthquake coverage
• Additional living expense coverage (including for residential housing)
• Blanket coverage for buildings under construction (up to $1 million)
• Crime and fidelity coverage for administration offices
• General liability coverage (up to $10 million, with options to extend to residential homes and occupants as well as employees and volunteers)
• Limited abuse coverage (up to $1 million)
• Pollution liability coverage (up to $250,000, with options for higher limits up to $2 million)
• Professional liability coverage for healthcare providers and councilors
• Public officials’ liability coverage for chiefs, councils and administrators
• Band legal expense coverage
• Unique accident coverage (including for funeral expenses, wrongful dismissal expenses and rehab expenses)
• Group accidental death and dismemberment coverage (up to $50,000 principal sum)
