President, Commercial Lines

James E. Hutchinson currently serves as President, Commercial Lines of HUB International Northeast. James is responsible for leading all aspects of HUB Northeast's commercial property and casualty client service and marketing initiatives. He currently oversees the company's Strategic Account Executives; Account Managers and client servicing teams; Marketing/Placement; and Specialties including Real Estate, Construction, Not for Profit, Healthcare, and Elevator Program.

Most recently, James served as Executive Vice President, Commercial Lines at HUB Northeast. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President of Field Operations for The Navigators Group Inc. (Navigators), where he handled a myriad of customer marketing and distribution, and regional marketing and business development initiatives. Prior to this, James previously held a variety of marketing roles at HUB Northeast from 1996 - 2014, including Chief Marketing Officer & Senior Vice President, where he was responsible for the oversight of the Marketing department, handling the negotiation and placement of all insurance coverages for HUB’s clients, as well as, developing and maintaining all insurance company relationships, and the implementation of the corporate marketing strategy. Many of the clients handled by James and his team are within the Real Estate, Construction, Restaurant and Manufacturing/Distributing industries.

Known in the commercial insurance industry as a specialist in the placement of difficult property and casualty business, James is a member of several advisory boards including the American Home (AIG) Excess Casualty National Broker Advisory Board, the ACE USA Broker Advisory Board and Affiliated FM Insurance Company Regional Broker Advisory Board. Prior to joining HUB, he has held both marketing and production positions with Hobbs Group, EG Bowman and Capitol Risk Concepts.

James holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Hobart & William Smith Colleges, where he was also a member of the Honor Society. He was named as a Top Executive in Marketing by Black Enterprise magazine in 2011.
