Hub International Limited (HUB) has announced Tyler Townsend as National Construction Specialty Practice Leader in Canada. Townsend will oversee the practice’s strategic initiatives, including delivering best-in-class solutions and services to construction clients and helping to grow the practice in Canada through talent recruitment and identifying new opportunities.
“With his comprehensive experience and knowledge of construction risks and policy management, Tyler is a valuable resource for our team and clients – both domestically in Canada and U.S./Canada cross-border opportunities,” said Craig Tappel, HUB’s Chief Sales Officer and Practice Leader. “Tyler’s role will help connect the North American construction teams and create a seamless experience for clients on either side of the border.”
Townsend has been in the insurance Industry for nearly 15 years, most recently as the managing director of a global risk and insurance advisory firm. In this role, Townsend led the consulting practice for large-scale real estate and construction firms and previously held positions with a global insurance brokerage firm. Townsend received his Bachelor of Arts: Concentration in Business Law from Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario, became a registered insurance broker of Ontario license, and received a chartered insurance professional designation from Insurance Institute of Canada. In 2018, Townsend received an Insurance Business Canada Top 40 Under 40 Award.
