Get the best rate for your insurance
Credit information is being used as a rating factor by most major insurers in Canada today because it is a predictor of future claims.
By providing your consent for a soft credit check, you will receive the best available rate. It is never used to decline insurance or surcharge a premium.
To provide your consent, select the button below and complete the form.
Provide ConsentCredit Information and Premiums
- Credit scores reflect an individual’s level of financial responsibility, not income.
- Credit scores are based largely on a person’s payment history (i.e. paying on time). Other factors include outstanding debt amounts, length of credit history, type of credit, foreclosures and bankruptcies.
- As each person’s credit information is unique to them, the savings are unique to the individual.
Soft Credit Check and Your Consent
- Only soft credit checks are performed. It does not affect your credit score in any way.
- To receive the best rate, you must provide your consent to allow a soft credit check. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Privacy and Confidentiality
- Your credit information is secure and confidential. It is not accessible or visible to an insurance company employee, broker or claims adjuster.
TransUnion and Equifax are two of the main credit reporting agencies in Canada. You can contact them to find out more information about credit scores in general or obtain your own credit report. Many banks also provide this information to their clients at no additional charge.
