The official home office of Conover Insurance was formed in 1981 when three insurance agencies merged to form Conover Insurance. One of the agencies, Ross W. Dent Insurance Agency was started in 1908, and was the first agency appointment for the General Insurance Company, known today as Safeco (Liberty Mutual).
