The two successful insurance groups making up this thriving HUB office are Der Manouel Insurance Group and Jerry Baird Insurance Agency & Baird Crop Insurance Agency.

Founded in 1983 as a joint venture with three different insurance agencies, Der Manouel Insurance Group, originally San Joaquin Valley Insurance Associates (SJVIA), grew from humble beginnings to one of the top 200 privately held insurance agencies in the United States by 2018.

For the past several years, with expertise in Employee Benefits, Almond Hulling and Processing, Farm and Agriculture, Construction, Private Security, Non Profits, and Habitational risks, the company has been able to focus on delivering its best in class service platform for clients, delivering products and resources to help them be the best and most competitive in their industries.

In February of 2018, the company brought its 30+ years of experience into a partnership with HUB International. During the process of evaluating possible partners, the company was drawn to HUB not only because they add exceptional market buying power and a virtually limitless bench of specialists in both risk and employee benefits to the agency, but also because they share virtually all of the company's core values. On October 1, 2021, Jerry Baird Insurance Agency & Baird Crop Insurance Agency also joined HUB, as a division of Hub International Insurance Services Inc. Specializing in farm, agribusiness, and crop insurance, Baird has been a fantastic addition to our Fresno operations.  Fresno native Jerry Baird started in the insurance business in 1967 after working in agriculture as a Bookkeeper/Controller for a number of prominent farming operations in the central San Joaquin Valley and northern California areas of the state. In 1973, he established the Jerry Baird Insurance Agency (Incorporated 1990). His son, Jace Baird, started his career in 1986, worked beside Jerry until his passing in 2015, and continues to manage and work with his staff of professionals and family to this day.   Austin Baird is also an integral part of this team, representing an important next generation of leadership in serving the farm and agricultural industry.
