Event Insurance
HUB International Insurance Services Inc is the administrator of Special Event Liability Group Insurance Trust, a California domiciled Risk Purchasing group.
The purchasing group provides Commercial General Liability and Liquor Liability for Events, Vendors at Events, and Instructors of Park and Recreation and other classes.
If you begin the online quote process and your event or activity is declined, you will be redirected to the Manual Underwriting application.
Note: Online quotes are available only in California, New York, Texas, Florida, Washington and Colorado at this time.
About the Program
Our Online Program is a 100% Electronic application, quote, purchase and issue. It is intended for the lowest Risk Exposures that do not require an underwriter's time for the review. This allows us to provide the broadest coverage at the lowest cost for Eligible events. Review the Online Quote Eligibility exposures to confirm you the event qualifies for this lower cost option.
The Manual application is a pdf application form. It is intended for exposures that are not eligible for the online program and requires an underwriter to review it before quoting. The processes are traditional underwriting processes and may include email or phone contact with the underwriter.

- Provides 30-day notice of cancellation.

Specific Event Exclusions:
- Abuse or Molestation
- Aircraft or Aviation
- Armed Security
- Athletic Participation
- Bicycle, unicycle, skateboard, roller skate, rollerblade, ice skate
- Boxing, wrestling, contact martial arts
- Carnival, circus, fair, festival, rodeo, equestrian event
- Carnival ride, mechanical amusement ride, motorized sporting equipment
- Communicable Disease, Virus or Bacteria
- Harness, belaying apparatus, fall protection equipment, trampoline, mini trampoline, rebounding device, bungee cord, zip lines, trapeze, high wire
- Inflatable recreation equipment (other than bounce houses)
- Jousting, archery
- Professional Services
- Rap or Heavy Metal Concert, Raves
- Recreational equipment on or over water
- Any event requiring a User Permit for use of public streets, outdoor picnic, park facilities (other than building rental)
Events or activities with one or more of the following exposures are not eligible for the online application and must apply using the manual application.
Meeting Event:
- Attendance over 500 per day or 2500 aggregate all days
- Liquor served over 5.5 hours any day
- Any outdoor exposure
- You arrange transportation for others
Celebration Event:
- Attendance over 300 per day or 1,000 aggregate all days
- Liquor served over 5.5 hours any day
- A fee is charged to attend and you are not a non-profit entity
- Your event includes an animal of any type
Fundraising Event:
- Attendance over 1,000 per day or 5,000 aggregate all days
- You have a type of entertainment other than music, comedian on speaker
- Liquor served over 5.5 hours any day
Performance Event:
- Attendance over 1,000 per day or 10,000 aggregate all days
- Liquor served over 5.5 hours any day
- Concert music genre qualifies
- Your event includes animal of any type
Instructor:
- Sexual abuse or molestation coverage is required
- Athletic participation exposure
- Exclusion for professional services or Health care Professional liability is not acceptable
- Liquor served over 5.5 hours any day
Vendor at an Event:
- Sell or serve uncooked Meat, Fish or Poultry
- Use of ladder, crane, scaffold, hoist or lift equipment, if you are a Lighting, Sound, Photography or IT Support vendor
General Decline Rules for Every Application
- Exposure in more than one state on a single application
- You are the property owner or manager
- You provide or arrange overnight lodging
- Armed Security
- Prior Claims
- Activity before 6 a.m. or after 11:30 p.m.

- Power boat racing
- Professional sporting activity
- Pyrotechnics or explosives
- Rock climbing including climbing walls
- Rodeo or roping events
- Scuba Diving
- Tractor or Tractor Pulls
- Football (except passing camps with no contact drills)
