Basketball’s a tough game. Playing to win means there’s always the chance of injury or accidental property damage. Don’t leave yourself exposed to someone calling foul after the fact: protect yourself with our comprehensive coverage just for members of the Alberta Basketball Association (ABA).
We offer general liability insurance and accident insurance for all sanctioned ABA games and practices. If a player or spectator gets hurt, you’re protected. If there’s property damage at an event, we’ve got you covered. If something happens at a training camp you’ve organized, it’s insured. We even offer travel insurance when your teams are on the road.

Travel to any location with an advisory stating “avoid all travel” or “avoid non-essential travel” will not be covered.
Coverage Details
- Complete a Certificate of Insurance Request Form. If possible, provide a contact name and email address for the facility or school board that will be on the certificate. Copies of the insurance certificate will be sent to that contact and to the club.
- Send the completed form to the Alberta Basketball Association for approval and certificate issuance.
- The Alberta Basketball Association will send the Certificate of Insurance to the email address of the Club Contact Person listed on the form. (If you don’t see your certificate, please check your Spam or Junk folder for email from the Certificate Program CertExchange.)
Note: Insurance certificates will not be issued to clubs that have been suspended or have outstanding fees.
Should you require coverage for office space or a facility owned by a club or district, contact HUB International at the number below or complete the K&K Commercial General Liability and Facility Application and return it to HUB for a quote.

You will also receive instructions and contact numbers to call in case of an emergency on your trip. You may wish to print this information and keep it handy while travelling.
