Hub International Limited (NYSE:HBG)(TSX:HBG) announced today that Stephen J. Mallory, a well-regarded leader in the Canadian insurance brokerage industry, has been named president and chief executive officer of Hub International Ontario Limited, a regional hub of Hub International. He succeeds long-time brokerage leader Nelson Tilander, who will serve as chairman.

Mallory joins Hub Ontario after more than 23 years of sales and service leadership, most recently with Marsh Canada Limited and, earlier, with Aon Reed Stenhouse. At Marsh, his responsibilities included emphasis on sales culture and sales pipeline development.

"Filling Nelson's shoes will not be easy, but we believe we've recruited a strong talent in Steve," said Martin P. Hughes, chairman and chief executive officer of Hub International. "His expertise in sales culture development meshes with our corporate focus on a unified sales culture throughout the Hub International organization, and he brings intimate knowledge of the markets served by Hub Ontario. We know our clients - present and future - will benefit greatly from his leadership."

Mallory joined Marsh Canada in 1985 and has served in a number of capacities in that organization. Beginning as a broker, he developed industry specializations in telecommunications and utilities, before turning his focus to business development--first in central Canada and later nationwide. He was named a member of the Marsh Canadian Executive Committee and the Marsh Inc. Global Sales Group.

"As one of the founding members of Hub International and part of a team that has enjoyed extraordinary success, it is difficult for me to leave, but I have the greatest confidence that Steve is just the right fit for Hub Ontario," Tilander said. "I look forward to a very smooth transition and a continuation of our strong track record of growth and client service."

Tilander, who has led Hub Ontario since 1998, is stepping away from the executive leadership role at Hub Ontario for an indefinite medical leave, according to Hughes.

"Nelson has made a major contribution to our growth in Canada," he said. "We are deeply grateful for his commitment over the years and for his leadership in the succession process."

Hub Ontario, one of 14 regional hubs operated by Hub International, is a leading insurance brokerage based in Toronto. Its 310 employees offer clients a full array of home, auto, life, commercial, wealth management, group benefits and other types of coverage.

Mallory holds a bachelors degree from the University of Western Ontario and is a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of Canada. He is a frequent speaker on insurance topics and is regularly quoted in insurance publications. He lives in Etobicoke, Ontario with his wife, Jill, and their three children.

Headquartered in Chicago, IL, Hub International Limited is a leading North American insurance brokerage that provides a broad array of property and casualty, life and health, employee benefits, investment and risk management products and services through offices located in the United States and Canada.
