Leading Insurance Brokerage Introduces Limited Medical Plan for Employers

Hub International Limited (NYSE:HBG)(TSX:HBG) announced today that its Employee Benefits Consulting division at its northeast regional office, Hub International Northeast (HUB Northeast), has developed and launched CoverEdge, an affordable voluntary insurance program for employers with non-eligible or non-participating employees. Through a partnership with Fringe Benefit Group, an industry leader in group benefit plans designed specifically for hourly and part-time workers, Hub International now offers valuable health benefits coverage for employees who previously did not qualify or could not afford company-sponsored insurance programs. This program is being launched initially through HUB Northeast, but is planned to be made available through all U.S. hubs.

CoverEdge is a customized program offering immediate access to valuable health benefits for employees, while offering employers a turnkey benefit solution including employee communication materials and administrative support. CoverEdge covers many of an employee's routine healthcare needs, such as doctor's visits for illness and preventive care, non-occupational accident coverage, and more. Nationwide Health Plans and Pan-American are underwriting two separate CoverEdge products for Hub International.

Depending on the plan design chosen by the employer, the plan may include the following benefits:

-- Payment for doctor office visits, maternity check-ups, accidents, surgical diagnostic, x-ray and lab

-- In-hospital benefit payment and hospital admission benefit payment

-- Limited or no restrictions on physicians networks

-- Prescription benefit (Rx) - no annual maximums

-- Guaranteed issue coverage - no health underwriting

-- No pre-existing condition limitations

-- No deductibles, no co-pays

-- Pre-tax deduction under IRS Sec. 125

-- No carrier mandated benefit periods

Each medical plan may include network and prescription drug discount programs offering additional savings on Medical, Dental, Vision, Rx and other services which help maximize plan benefits. Optional benefits available through the CoverEdge program may include increased levels of insurance for Dental/Vision, Life and AD&D, Short Term Disability, EAP, and a 24-hour Nurse Line.
