Executive Vice President, Construction Practice Leader
With 30 years in the surety industry, Mike Murphy brings a combination of experience and skills that few possess to the HUB team. A former certified public accountant with a Big 8 firm, Mike also served seven years as an underwriter with Safeco Surety, responsible for, among other things, authoring their financial underwriting guidelines manuals used nationwide. As a surety broker in Seattle and Alaska, he’s handled several of the largest civil, marine, building contractors and subcontractors in the region. Mike’s approach to business is simple: “Be proactive and innovative rather than reactive. Out prepare and outwork the competition. Nurture and maintain strong relationships with key personnel at surety companies.” Mike graduated from Babson College in Massachusetts with a B.S. in Finance and Accounting.
