Community Service

Service is critical to HUB International Northeast Limited and our commitment to serve extends to the communities where we live and do business. HUB GIVES is a charitable and community-giving program that allows HUB employees across North America the opportunity to donate their time and service to community projects. HUB GIVES taps into our employees’ creativity, passion and connection to their communities to facilitate a meaningful and rewarding experience for the employees and the communities that benefit from their services.

HUB Northeast is continually adopting charitable projects to participate in, and contributes financially to many great causes and funds.

HUB Northeast is a proud supporter of the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) and actively participates in their annual “Week of Giving”.

HUB Supports Volunteers of America: In honor of Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) Week of Giving 2015, HUB International Northeast chose Volunteers of America as their charity of choice. The "Gifts for the Holidays" campaign aimed to collect new/unopened gifts for children of all ages who are in homeless and domestic violence shelters, pre-k schools for kids with developmental delays, and group homes for at-risk youth. HUB worked with various local chapters of VOA across the Northeast so that children in these facilities in NY, NJ, CT, PA and RI would be recipients of our contributions. Through the efforts of each HUB Northeast office, thousands of dollars and 30 boxes of gifts were collected for the charity.

HUB Supports the Marty Lyons Foundation: In honor of Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) Week of Giving 2014, HUB International Northeast selected the Marty Lyons Foundation as the recipient of this project. The Marty Lyons Foundation was established in 1982 to fulfill the special wishes of children who have been diagnosed as having a terminal or life threatening illness by providing and arranging special wish requests. Through the efforts of each HUB Northeast office, a grand total of nearly $17,000 was raised for the Marty Lyons Foundation.

HUB's "Dress for Success" Goodwill Industries Clothing Drive: In honor of the the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) Week of Giving 2013, HUB International Northeast chose Goodwill Industries as their charity of choice. The "Dress for Success" campaign aimed to collect business attire for men and women in need. Each of HUB Northeast's regional offices did a tremendous job with fundraising efforts. As a result of the employees' creative philanthropic efforts such as bake sales, raffle sales and a silent auction, the region was able to donate 65 boxes/bags of goods and apparel, one full Goodwill bin, and monetary contributions to Goodwill Industries.

HUB Donates to the United Way “Stuff the Bus” Campaign:The HUB Personal Lines team led a “Stuff the Bus” campaign benefiting the United Way of Greater Union County. The “Stuff the Bus” initiative focuses  on  helping  low income children who lack the supplies they need to enter the classroom ready to learn. HUB employees from the Fort Lee and Summit offices donated school supplies to benefit this worthy cause. An entire school bus was stuffed with supplies and delivered the goods straight to classrooms in the area.

United Way was so grateful for HUB’s contribution that they invited HUB to join United Way of Greater Union County’s 2013-14 Kick-Off celebration at The NASDAQ Market Site.

Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue and Adoption Center: HUB Northeast’s Personal Lines team out of Woodbury, NY has chosen Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue and Adoption Center in Port Jefferson Station, New York to be the recipient of fund raising efforts. The shelter operates with the belief that it is their moral responsibility to protect and improve the lives of abused, abandoned, and homeless animals and to place them in loving, permanent homes. Save-A-Pet relies on the generosity of the general public, their support and donations to provide food and shelter to homeless and abandoned dogs and cats. HUB was able to raise money for the shelter as a result of raffles and donations. In addition, a large amount of supplies were collected and delivered to the shelter.

Starlight Children’s Foundation: For the 2012 IICF “Week of Giving”, HUB Northeast chose Starlight Children's Foundation as their project of choice. Starlight has been dedicated to improving the quality of life for children around the globe with chronic and life-threatening illnesses and life-altering injuries by providing entertainment, education and family activities that help them cope with the pain, fear and isolation of prolonged illness.

All 14 of HUB Northeast’s regional offices dedicated their time and efforts to collect party favors and supplies to enable children’s hospitals to throw festive holiday parties for patients and family members. Team leaders organized bake sales, raffles, and other fundraising efforts in order to maximize collections and monetary donations. As a result, over 45 boxes were donated.

When the devastation of Hurricane Sandy hit close to home, HUB was pleased to learn that Starlight’s Child Life Specialists group were using some of HUB’s contributions while offering assistance to children in shelters in the hardest hit areas.

“The outcome is simply amazing! Thank you for the amazing effort that your team has made on behalf of the Starlight children in hospitals. We are delighted by all of the wonderful items that we have received from HUB International Northeast. Birthdays and other holiday celebrations will be made more festive and less stressful. Thank you so again for making such a huge difference in the lives of our Starlight kids.” – Michele Hall-Duncan, Director of Children’s Services, Starlight Children’s Foundation
