Our experts know you want lower rates and we can do it with no compromise on coverage.
Our goal is to not only provide you with a competitive price when you first sign on the dotted line --- but to help you maintain your good driving record on a yearly basis with no sacrifice on coverage. This in turn will keep your rates down!
How do we do this? We do not automatically process claims reports when you notify us of a loss. With the exception of losses that you are legally obligated to report, we counsel you on the pros and cons of submitting a claim to your insurer. Although you may have the coverage, a claim may result in higher deductibles, higher premiums, change in coverage, or possibly non renewal of your policy. We will review your file and discuss possible ramifications that may ensue. This way, you make an informed decision based on what is best for you.
With access to over 20 insurers, we are able to assist with:
- high value automobiles
- maximizing discounts on multi-vehicle families
- waiver of depreciation coverage on new vehicles whether leased or owned
- drivers with frequency of traffic violations and/or claims
- newer drivers
Rates vary from insurer to insurer and we are here to find the one that is the best match for you. Keep in mind that what works for you today, may not tomorrow. Renewals are reviewed on a regular basis and should there be a better option, we will notify you.
Accident Forgiveness vs. Driving Record Protection Coverage
It is important to understand the difference between the two. Generally speaking, a 6 Star Driving Record (or better) means that you are free of at-fault accidents for six years. If you experience your first at-fault accident, most insurers grant "forgiveness" which usually means dropping you from a "6 Star" to "5 Star" Driving Record. Although there may still be a premium increase, it is considered forgiveness because you are paying a rate that is based on being 5 years accident free instead of the much higher premium that the "0 Star" Driving Record would generate.
Different insurers have different names for it, but you can purchase coverage to protect you from this rate increase. The annual premium is nominal and will basically secure your preferred driving record should you be involved in your first at-fault accident.

Accident Benefits
Standard limits on Accident Benefits may not be sufficient for some individuals. Factors to consider are your annual net earnings and whether or not you have other insurance in place for loss of income should you be unable to work after injuries sustained in an accident.

TIPS ON KEEPING COSTS DOWN WITHOUT COMPROMISING COVERAGE
- Non-payment of moving traffic violations can result in suspension of your license. This in turn can affect your premiums. Deal with the ticket - whether this means fighting it, or paying it. If it is a serious or major conviction, try to get it reduced. Ultimately, try and avoid violations altogether.
- Wear your seat belt! A seat belt violation does "count" when it comes to insurance!
- Raise your deductible (and increase your liability limit with the savings!)
- Keep your home and auto insurance with one insurer, if possible
- Retired? Let us know so we may apply the retiree discount.
- No longer commuting? On maternity leave? Call us so we may change your driving classification to "pleasure"
- Consider deleting physical damage coverage on older vehicles
- Ensure that new drivers take MTO-approved drivers training courses
- Get overdraft protection on your bank account. Insufficient funds and cancellations for nonpayment can affect your rating
- Practice safe and defensive driving habits
- Autograph offers customized discounting - check it out!
