Overview

The Women's Resource Centre Program grew out of the belief that women faced with profound challenges are incredibly resilient.  It is with a desire to empower women to succeed and grow in these circumstances that we created a program to minimize risk and provide loss prevention tools to Non-Profit Societies like yours who are in the business of helping women.

Marion Wickstrom - Commercial Account Executive

Marion Wickstrom

Marion started her career with HUB International Barton Insurance Brokers in 2007. She has since focused her efforts on the insurance  and risk management needs of her clients in the Community Services, Women's Resource Facilities, Non-Profit Society's, Hospitality, Retreat/Spa, Health & Wellness and Manufacturing areas.

Marion grew up within a family of entrepreneurs in the Hotel and Hospitality industry, and as a result understands the many challenges that business owners face on a day-to-day basis.

Community relationships and volunteering are very important to Marion.  Volunteering for the Ann Davis Transition Society is extremely rewarding and close to Marion's heart.  In the past, Marion has fundraised and held clothing and toy drives for Crab Tree Corner in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. Marion has also been involved with the United Way and other organizations.

As a resident of Chilliwack, Marion spends her time being a parent to three sons and is very involved in their sports and recreational activities. Marion is a volunteer with Fraser Valley Minor Football, the Fraser Valley Rugby Association and the Mount Slesse Soccer Academy.

Resources

The local HUB International Barton Insurance Brokers representatives will be your primary contact for all claims.  We will accept and pass on claims to the appropriate insurance company and ensure prompt handling of the claim. 

In some cases the insurance company will use their own insurance adjusters; however, there will be instances where independent insurance adjusters will be appointed.  We will consult with your risk manager on preference of insurance adjusters and work with insurance companies to have these adjusters appointed as "adjusters of record".  It has been our experience that when adjusters receive such an appointment, they provide prompt service and although they report and receive instructions from the insurance company, they will work harder to represent your interests.   We will also negotiate "in-house" claims settlement on losses up to an agreed amount. 

Claims Management

HUB International Barton Insurance Brokers also has a Claims Management Department.  Our claims expert, Gary Cooper, CIP, has considerable experience in the handling and adjustment of municipal claims.  His mandate is to oversee all aspects of the claim process and to ensure that claims are handled in a professional manner. 

His established relationships with insurance companies enable him to work on any claims issues that you may have and to ensure they are resolved to your satisfaction.  Should a major loss occur he is immediately available to protect your interests and to offer advice throughout the entire claim, including assisting in the preparation and presentation of claims documents and providing advice on compiling the claim. 

Clients also use our knowledgeable Claims Department as a valuable source of information and advice relating to issues such as self-management of smaller losses, risk identification and control and claim documentation.
