President of Canada & Midwest Regions

James Barton serves on the Executive Management Team and has served in the role of President of Canada and Midwest Regions since September 2009. His responsibilities include oversight of the HUB International offices located across Canada, as well as Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, and Ohio. Prior to this role, he served as President of Retail Insurance Solutions for HUB.

He began his career with Barton Insurance Brokers in 1977 and advanced to Senior Vice President in 1991. He was then named President and Chief Operating Officer in January 2005 and assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer of Hub Barton in June 2005. Hub International Barton Insurance Brokers has over 50 locations throughout the province of British Columbia with over 550 employees. It is currently the largest auto insurance broker in the province and a leading brokerage within the HUB International family of companies.

In addition to his leadership role within HUB, Jim serves on various boards and is Past President of the Rotary Club, past director of the YMCA, and Co-Chair and founder of the Founders Cup Foundation, which has raised over $2 million for charity since 1994.
